A purely photography focused time with us (well, almost - It's up to you).
It may be the first year that we are offering these workshops in Kefalonia, but they have been 3 years in the planning - and they are going to be great!
We love Kefalonia… So much so, that we have been going back almost every year - and for the last three trips we have returned to the same group of villas. Over this period we have been planning and discussing the offering of workshops out of them. This summer everything finally fell in to place and after much hard work, we're now in a position where we know we can offer you the very best of experiences and of course, learning.
We will be offering two distinct types of packages. The first is the one week workshop, where we will be wholly focused on you and your photographic learning from the moment you arrive until the time you leave us. It will be fun, laid back and well paced. You will also get to absorb many of the offerings that island has. But, it will be all focused on you and the improving of your skills.
If you are looking to combine the improvement of your skills with a relaxing break, whatever the time of year, then the two week plus offering is for you. The workshop week will be the same, you will simply have extra time to relax, catch some rejuvenating sun and, should you wish, bring your family along and have a villa to yourself. This way you can have your break on this stunning greek island whilst still managing to get the expert professional photographic help you are looking for.
Given we tailor the workshops around you as an individual as much as possible, the information on this site is meant only as guidance and to give you a flavour of what you can expect from your time with us.
In essence, we do everything we can to make sure that you not only get the additional learning and skill improvements that you are looking for. But, we do this whilst making sure that you have a great time on what is the stunning Greek island of Kefalonia. And actually get a chance to really see it for what it is, rather than rushing from one spot to another. As that approach will give you no real benefit from attending whatsoever.
We don’t do regimented tours in buses filling every hour of the day for you. We have a large variety of approaches that we know work - and will allocate the one that will give you personally the most value from your time with us.
Should you decide that halfway through the week you’d like to spend a day doing your own thing - That’s fine by us. It’s your workshop and we want to make it work for you.
At the moment, we are not arranging flights, insurance and car hire - but we are working on getting you special rates for all of these. If you are interested in any of these special rate travel and hire serices, drop us an email or fill out the contact form. Or alternatively, keep coming back to us and checking our ‘Specials & Extras’ section of the site.
So have a look around and feel free to get in touch - we'd love to hear from you and of course, we’d love to see you with us on one of our workshops in Kefalonia...
We pride ourselves on going the extra mile to ensure that our workshop attendees get more than they thought possible from one of our workshops. Here's how we make that happen. If we've missed something out don't forget to tell us!
The standard package that we can offer you is great. But like we have already said, we not only tailor your time with us to best suit you and only you; we also want your time with us to be amazing, not just great...
As a result, we have arranged some very special extras just for attendees of our workshops. And, at rates you couldn't get yourself. From car hire to very special trips. This list will get bigger as the year progresses. But, if you have already booked with us, we'll make sure we let you know as and when new adventures and extras are added before you join us.
We have a number of special trips that we can make available based upon demand. These can be included within the one week workshop, or if you are staying with us longer to roll a holiday in to your time with us, you can join one of the other workshop groups should you so fancy.
As with Kefalonia, these trips have something special going on at all times of the year from a photography perspective. Read on to find out more..
This trip can be taken at the very beginning of your week with us, or the last two days before you return home. Simply reverse depending on what you fancy.
It is also demand based and likely to only be offered 4 times in the year (this can be reviewed based on demand) at the peak of each season for maximum visual impact.
In summary, a day and night will be spent in Athens hitting both the famous tourist spots as well as some of the more unknown, off the beaten track locations. The next day will be transiting either to or from Kefalonia. On leaving Athens we will head to either Olympia and the Corinth Canal joining the Aegian and Ionian seas before catching the ferry to Argostoli in Kefalonia from the amazing port city of Patrai; or head north and transit through the mountain ranges which are home to a large number of ski resorts before baring south to cross the new 3km bridge across the Ionian and heading to the port of Patrai.
Whichever the route taken, you are guaranteed of some truly stunning scenery, historic architecture and a whole lot of people watching.
This can also be available as a 3 day round trip for those who want to stay with us for two weeks, or longer - it's up to you!
In the latter part of 2010, we are hoping to be able to offer the same workshop but with the inclusion of a three-day island hopping cruise on a converted coastguard cruIser with 16 berths.
If all goes to plan and the conversion is completed, we hope to offer the following selection of three day cruises within the Aegian & Ionian Seas from either the Greek mainland or Kefalonia.
We will also hopefully be able to offer day trips too for attendees of the standard workshops.
The first will be a pickup from the port of Piraeus in Athens and then following the Aegean coast west towards and transiting through the Corinth canal, which has to be seen to be believed. We will then follow the Ionian coast to the port of Patrai, where we will then make short crossing of clear sea to Argostoli, via the famous shipwreck beach on Zakinthos.
The second cruise will leave from Argostoli harbour, follow the coastline anticlockwise around Kefalonia, berthing off the many world-class beaches, cliffs and secret coves that are only accessible from the sea. Before stopping overnight in Fiskardo. We will then circumnavigate the sister island of Ithica clockwise before cruising around the many small islands between Kefalonia and the Greek mainland. These may include Arkoudi, Atokos, Kalamos, Kastos, Vromonas, Makri and Oxeia before heading back to Argostoli around the South East peninsula of Kefalonia.
A possible third option, dependent on the season, will be a one-week cruise taking in all of the above and returning to the port Pireaus in Athens. Or, should you want to stay with longer take advantage of an extended stay in one of our Villas we can return you to Argostoli we can pick up a hire car and make the 30 minute drive to Trapezaki where we're located.
There is a chance that this may not be available until 2011. But, if this is something that would be of interest to you, please let us know and as soon as any of the trips are available, we will be sure to let you know.
It may be the first year that we are offering these workshops in Kefalonia, but they have been 3 years in the planning - and they are going to be great!
